Pause, take a deep breath, and ask yourself:“If I were my own parent right now, what would I say to comfort and guide myself?”
Speak these words to yourself, either aloud or internally.
Create a simple affirmation that reflects this supportive message. For example, “I am safe. I am doing my best.”
Throughout the day, repeat this affirmation whenever you feel triggered.
