In-Person Doula Training
Buckinghamshire | 23RD – 27TH NOVEMBER | Limited Places | self study course included
Learn the art, science and advocacy of birth while becoming the woman capable of holding others through transformation.
What this training is
When Push Comes to Shove Doula Training blends deep physiological birth knowledge, advocacy skills, and inner work so you can support women with clarity, confidence, and integrity.
For women who want to attend births, support families, hold space for others, and understand themselves more deeply. Learn birth physiology, advocacy, informed consent and the inner work required to truly support another human being.
This is transformational training.
What makes this training different
Most childbirth education teaches birth. This training teaches birth AND the woman supporting it.
Alongside physiology, advocacy and informed consent, we explore the nervous system, survival adaptations, communication patterns, boundaries, projection and self awareness.
Because birth does not happen in isolation.
Every fear, belief, coping strategy and unconscious pattern walks into the birth room too.
Every woman who trains with us is invited to explore her own patterns so she can support others with greater clarity, presence and integrity. This inner component is not an optional extra. It is the foundation of the training.
This training is about more than becoming a doula

Important to know before applying
This course requires a commitment to inner work.
You will be exploring emotional, psychological, and belief-based patterns that affect how you show up in birth spaces. This is what allows you to support women without projecting fear, control, or unresolved trauma.
If that feels aligned, you are in the right place.
About the facilitator
Nickita Starck is the founder of When Push Comes to Shove and a world-renowned birth advocate, doula trainer, and human dynamics specialist. Her work has influenced thousands of women, birth workers, and practitioners internationally, particularly in the areas of informed consent, physiological birth, and women’s autonomy within maternity care.

Nickita’s work centres on restoring trust in birth by supporting the woman first, recognising that safety, sovereignty, and inner steadiness are the foundations of transformative birth experiences.
