Courses Terms & Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to all of our courses that we offer.

General Overview

When Push Comes To Shove (WPCTS) provides educational and informational services to support autonomy, informed choice, and self-responsibility in pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

We are not a healthcare provider, midwifery practice, or medical advisory body. Nothing within our website, courses, social media, communities, or communications constitutes medical, midwifery, or psychological advice.

All decisions regarding pregnancy, birth, and healthcare remain the sole responsibility of the individual. By engaging with WPCTS in any form, you agree to use your own discernment, seek professional advice where appropriate, and accept full responsibility for your choices and outcomes.

Scope of Services

WPCTS provides holistic and evidence-based education about pregnancy, birth, and emotional wellbeing. Our content is designed to support informed decision-making but does not replace qualified medical, midwifery, or mental health care.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy, WPCTS accepts no liability for any outcomes, loss, or damages arising from the use or interpretation of our information. All resources are used at your own risk and should always be cross-referenced with trusted, professional sources.

Courses – General Terms

By enrolling in any WPCTS course, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

We do not teach or provide clinical care.

No content constitutes medical advice or authorises you to offer such advice to others.

You are responsible for your own wellbeing and for encouraging your clients to seek qualified care where needed.

Our training is designed to complement, not replace, the guidance of health professionals.

WPCTS courses are for educational purposes only. Completion of a WPCTS course provides a certificate of learning but does not qualify participants as medical professionals or licensed practitioners.

In-Person Courses

Non-Refundable Payment:

All payments for in-person courses are non-refundable due to the costs of securing venues and resources. Once payment is made, your place is confirmed.

Rescheduling:

If you cannot attend, you may request to move to a future course (subject to availability) by contacting us at least 10 days before the start date.

No-Show Policy:

Failure to attend without notice results in forfeiture of the full fee.

Online Courses (Live and Home Study)

Refunds:

No refunds are issued after two weeks from the booking date, in line with trading standards.

Triggering Content:

Course material may cover sensitive topics. By enrolling, you accept responsibility for your emotional wellbeing and are encouraged to seek support if needed.

Informal Learning Environment:

Our online courses are self-governed and inclusive. You are free to eat, breastfeed, or care for your baby during sessions.

Payment Plans:

If paying in instalments, you agree to maintain sufficient funds each month. Payment plans must be completed in full prior to certification.

Technology:

You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection and the necessary software to access materials.

Recording Consent:

Some sessions are recorded for training purposes but will never be shared publicly without explicit consent.

Intellectual Property:

All course materials are the intellectual property of WPCTS and may not be copied, shared, or distributed without written permission.

Confidentiality:

You agree to respect the privacy of all participants, and to keep sensitive information shared within the course confidential.

WPCTS Doulas & Student Conduct

WPCTS doulas are trained to offer emotional, practical, and educational support only. They do not perform medical tasks, interpret clinical data, or provide medical advice.

Each student and certified doula agrees to uphold the WPCTS Code of Conduct, which includes:

Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality

Promoting informed choice without coercion

Holding valid insurance where applicable

Refraining from representing themselves as medical professionals or official spokespeople of WPCTS

WPCTS is not responsible for the conduct of independently practising doulas.

Community and Online Groups

WPCTS hosts online groups and communities (including WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook) for education, discussion, and connection.

These spaces are peer-led and non-clinical. Moderators and members may share personal experiences or information, but nothing shared constitutes medical or emergency advice.

By joining any WPCTS community, you agree to:

Take full responsibility for your own wellbeing and choices

Avoid offering or requesting medical advice

Communicate respectfully and avoid fear-based messaging

Seek professional help where necessary

WPCTS does not accept liability for how information is interpreted or acted upon within these groups.

Hiring a Birth Keeper or Doula from WPCTS

WPCTS operates as a directory for self-employed birth workers. We do not employ, supervise, or control the doulas listed.

Each birth worker is responsible for their own services, contracts, and insurance.

Clients are encouraged to:

Conduct their own due diligence before hiring

Agree terms directly with the doula

Seek medical advice from licensed professionals as needed

WPCTS accepts no responsibility for outcomes, disputes, or conduct of individual birth workers.

1:1 Consultations

Our consultations are designed for information and reflection only — not as medical or therapeutic care.

By booking a session, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own decisions and medical navigation.

Payment & Cancellation:

Sessions must be paid in full prior to commencement. Cancellations require 48 hours’ notice. Missed sessions are non-refundable.

All sessions are confidential and may be recorded for internal training purposes only.

Limitation of Liability

While WPCTS strives to provide accurate and supportive education, we make no guarantees regarding outcomes.

WPCTS shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in our courses, services, or communities.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold WPCTS, its instructors, and affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your participation or reliance on our materials.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UK courts.

Disclaimer

When Push Comes To Shove Ltd and its representatives accept no liability for outcomes resulting from the use or misuse of any information shared through its courses, consultations, or community platforms. All engagement with WPCTS is voluntary and undertaken at your own risk.

These Terms & Conditions are subject to change without prior notice. Clients are responsible for reviewing the latest version prior to enrolment or continued engagement with WPCTS.

Hiring a Birth Keeper or Doula From When Push Comes To Shove

When Push Comes To Shove (WPCTS) is a directory of self-employed birth workers who offer practical and emotional support during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The following terms and conditions apply when hiring a birth worker from WPCTS:

WPCTS is not responsible for the conduct of the birth workers on our directory as they are self-employed. We provide a platform to connect clients with birth workers, but we do not employ any birth workers.

The birth workers on our directory are not or licensed to provide clinical care. (Unless you have engaged an independent midwife with appropriate insurance) WPCTS provides practical and emotional support, as well as evidence-based information to help clients make informed decisions about their care. Clients should seek medical advice from a licensed healthcare provider.

Clients should conduct their own research and due diligence when choosing a birth worker from our directory. WPCTS does not endorse or recommend any specific birth worker.

Clients are responsible for negotiating the terms and conditions of the birth worker’s services directly with the birth worker. WPCTS is not involved in any contractual or financial arrangements between clients and birth workers.

If a client has any concerns about the conduct of a birth worker on our directory, they should contact us at info@whenpushcomestoshove.co.uk. We will investigate the matter and take appropriate action, which may include removing the birth worker from our directory if necessary.

By hiring a birth worker from our directory, clients agree to release WPCTS from any liability or claims arising from the services provided by the birth worker.

These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice. Clients should review these terms and conditions periodically for updates.

1-1 consultations

Terms and Conditions for 1-1 Zoom or in person Consultations by When Push Comes To Shove (WPCTS):

Payment: Payment for 1-1 Zoom consultations must be made in full before the start time of your session. We accept payments via credit/debit card or PayPal or direct bank transfer.

Cancellation: If you need to cancel your 1-1 Zoom consultation, we require at least 48 hours notice. If you fail to provide sufficient notice, the full fee for the consultation will still apply.

Information: Our 1-1 Zoom consultations are designed to provide you with information to help you make informed decisions. We do not provide advice, and you are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on the information provided.

Medical Advice: During 1-1 Zoom consultations, we do not provide medical advice. By booking a consultation, you acknowledge that you are responsible for navigating your own medical care and making your own decisions regarding your health.

Bulk Sessions: For bulk courses, payment must be made in full before the sessions commence. Once payment has been received, you will be provided with access to the course materials and any necessary instructions.

Confidentiality: We take your privacy seriously and will keep all information you share with us during the 1-1 Zoom consultation confidential. However, please note that there may be legal exceptions to confidentiality in certain circumstances. All sessions are recorded.

Limitation of Liability: When Push Comes To Shove (WPCTS) shall not be held liable for any damages or losses arising from or in connection with the 1-1 Zoom consultations or bulk courses.

By booking a 1-1 Zoom consultation or purchasing a bulk course from When Push Comes To Shove (WPCTS), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
